I found my true love
WordPress to Ghost (2015)
It has been a while since I posted anything because I have been busy fixing certain things with my life and blog. My blog looks different now because I switched over from
node.js and it has been great! I like the fact that it is simple and does what it advertises. It takes away all the technical jargon and instead gives the writer what he/she wants. I have had a lot of issues with WordPress as a "blogging platform" in the past. Ghost seemed to address most of the problems I discovered in WordPress. I hope my experience with this platform only gets better with time and doesn't degrade in any way. I have some great tutorials on computational fluid dynamics coming along the way. I will get right on it once I submit my paper. Then I should have plenty of time to indulge myself in the blog.
Ghost to Medium (2017)
I gave up on everything mentioned in the previous paragraph. I hate to maintain servers anymore since I don't have the time. I have moved to 3 providers without writing a single new article. Medium seems like the best place for me jot down my thoughts. Hopefully, this will be a very long relationship. Medium also makes sense on a practical level. Its sheer simplicity is impressive. I am not running a business. I need a medium to jot down my experiences and scream/rant whenever required. This platform gives my readers the ability to share / like my content out of the box. It gives me the necessary analytics information too. I still keep 2 or 3 servers for building and hosting some fun applications. Since my blog isn't running on any of them, I don't have to worry as much about them failing/crashing. I can have fun with the whole process and blog about it right here and share my wisdom with all of you, beautiful people. One thing you may have noticed is my promise of tutorials in computational fluid dynamics. I never got around to it. I will dedicate the rest of the time to CFD and publish more content.
Medium to Hashnode (2020)
It seems like procrastination is my motto. Shit happens, though. That's how life goes, and there is not much we can do about it. I am moving my blog once again from Medium to Hash node. Medium has blown up into something huge, and that's great for them. However, it seems like even the silliest copy-pasted tutorials get monetized there. I could write a blogging platform of my own at this point. I have developed enough experience in Flask at this point to be able to write my web applications from scratch. But, there is no point in reinventing the wheel. Hence, I am moving my blog or whatever this might be from Medium. I hope to write more this time. Ideally, I would like to write at least one article every week. But, that's a bit unrealistic in my schedule. So, I will at least try to write one article every month and see how things go. I kept talking about computational fluid dynamics tutorials and never delivered. This is because of my work and research area. I am more into computational geometry these days. I am trying to do a bit of CFD. Maybe I will do something in future with fluid simulation (more from a graphics perspective though).
